[Journal Club] Constraints on the scalar-field potential in warm inflation
Dr. Shu-Lin Cheng
For a standard inflationary model to be observationally consistent, the potential has to be extremely flat. The best motivated warm inflationary scenarios require an even flatter potential than standard inflation. I will introduce the work in arXiv: 2209.14908. In this paper, they quantify the degree of fine tuning required to achieve an observationally viable period of inflation in the strongly dissipative regime of warm inflation. They show that in a strongly dissipative regime the bound on fine tuning parameter can significantly weaken with respect to cold inflation.
